The Professor leaned over the port balcony next to the captain as the Ariane approached its destination: The Talon airstation. Nicholas had only been here once previously, and the sheer size of the station never ceased to strike upon his face an expression of knowledgeable - for all of the professor's expressions were knowledgeable - awe.
"She was constructed on the ground in large sections and then assembled in the air," he said to Bren, continuing their discussion. "In the beginning, critics thought she would never float, but here she is today." He wiped his glasses on his shirt collar. "A testament to human engineering."
With the bustle of hybrids behind him he realised his slip with a cold pang. ".. A-and hybrid, of course," he added self-consciously. It felt as though they were all watching him, with their cold animal gazes. The part of him that enjoyed sharing his vast wealth of knowledge wanted to continue to say that hybrid involvement in the project was mostly limited to manual labour, and only a few Avians were reallyto be noted in it's development... but who knew what would offend the semi-humans behind him? He bit down on the urge to speak.
The enormous platform grew larger as they gained on it, the deck a hive of minute military activity. Out of the clouds on the other side could be seen a zeppelin, small by comparison to the Talon, but still enormous in its own right. The Prof. blinked owlishly at it as it emerged, remaining a static distance from the Talon.
"I do believe that could well be the Aurelia," he said with a hint of surprise in his voice.

Bren who had been enjoying the light conversation about Air-ships, a subject he was always happy to converse on.
But at the mention of the Aurelia his ears perked up.
"Con Get me a glass and tell me if that's the Aurelia over there." Bren called to the Avian As he passed on what was probably a more important task.
Bren's sense of curiosity and dread was raised by the idea of seeing one of the Royal Air Navy's infamous Prison Ships.

Con hadn't been too interested in the Professor's explanation over the Talon, but the mention of Aurelia caused him to give up his rather uninterested state of mind.
"Aurelia Bren?" Con said as he reached above his head for the hanging spyglass. As he untied the glass from it's cord he looked over towards the airship in the distance.
Con passed the glass over to Bren and turned to look at his Captain "Sure looks like a prison ship, but she swore she was over 18 Cap!" he added in jest even though he didn't feel amused by the ship's presence.

Jasmine, standing a little away from the men, tossed her snowy white head and couldn't help cracking a smirk. Con could make her smile at the stupidest thing, the Captain even more so.
Well, she was generally an optimistic person.
Ceasing her death-glare on the professors back she grabbed De's skinny wrist and stalked over to the group, tail flicking from side to side.

The Professor pulled out a short range spyglass from his own pockets, dubiously more of a trinket than technical equipment, and squinted down its length to little avail.
"If it is the Aurelia herself, she'll hang back there until well after we've docked and you've left," he said, folding the short glass in on itself and tucking it back into his breast pocket. He didn't mind the pilot, oh, what was his name - Con, or something. His sense of humour was a breath of fresh air from the tedious students squabbling to gain favour that he had become accustomed to. In fact, he was perfectly comfortable around Con providing he needn't look into the Avian's face and glimpse those awful eyes.
The Prof. became aware that the fox and the hyperactive mechanic monkey were approaching behind him and winced uncomfortably, glancing reproachfully at the captain, who for the time being was intent on the distant zeppelin.

Bren held the glass to his eye and surveyed the gleaming and impressive curves of the Prison Ship Aurelia. The sight filled him with equal amounts of awe and fear. Both tinged with just a little lust. She was such an extraordinary piece of engineering all of the curves in just the right places. His heart began to race as his mind wandered to what it would be like to get behind her wheel and explore the limits of her exceptional form.
'she'll hang back there until well after we've docked and you've left'...
Not with our luck she won't Thought Bren to himself as he straightened and closed the telescope with a decisive CLACK.
Then chucking it back to Con he turned to the approaching members of his crew. Smiling widely at Jasmine, He'd always had a soft spot for the girl after she had so tenderly nursed him back to health. If she wasn't a Hybrid he'd very much like to....
'Does anybody remember if any of us has pissed of the Royal Navy lately?' He asked with a beaming smile on his face. As if he was asking simply whether it was going to rain tomorrow.

De bounded over to the group just behind Jasmine and gently freed himself from her grip. He glanced over to the Aurelia and then at the Captain with a grin. "I didn't, Captain!" he said happily. His furry, vaguely humanoid face then contorted into a confused frown. "Oh wait... there was that one girl, with the reallynicemonkeywrenchwasn'tshelike, thedaughterofsomeofficerorsomething? ShewasprettycutetooandIaskedheroutbutshesaidnoandthenherdadcameaftermeandIthinkhewasanofficerbutIcould be... wrong..." he finished with a sheepish grin, glancing at the Professor, then at Bren, then at Jasmine, then finally fixed his gaze on the Aurelia and the air station. It wasn't much time until his attention had shifted to a particular pipe somewhere in the back of the room which he went and examined, a short pink tongue poking slightly out between thin lips.

"no i was more meaning have you 'improved' any engines on any of their gunships lately?" said Bren jokingly to De.
While his mind wandered back to the Aurelia He'd visited her once thankfully as the guest of one of it's crew. Bren would rather die than go there as a 'guest' of her majesty.
Bren wandered over to the Coms unit on the wall and cranked the handle to ring the phone on the Bridge.
When Kaylan answered Bren Said 'Alright Kay that beauty on our Starboard is the Aurelia So i want you to bring her in steady and by the book... And carry a gun'

Whilst the others had been conversing with the Professor, Kalyan had been keeping an eye on everything on the Bridge. When the phone rang, he listened to his orders and answered quickly and efficiently with a simple "Yes Sir."
He hung up the reciever and began his orders, having already armed himself with his usual attire, he concentrated on the piloting, and began the usual docking procedure.

The cog-transistor receiver whirred next to Kalyan as the Talon station sent them their docking information: it interpreted the morse signal and a hole punching system in the mechanism printed out the written details - advised trajectory, the Talon's current velocity, and the bay number to land in being the more important of the details.
On the deck, the Professor wiped his glasses again, fidgety around the hybrids and trying not to look at them in case he caused offence. He stood up his leather suitcase, his technical equipment was stowed to one end of the deck ready to be unloaded. He smiled as the ship slowed over it's alloted docking bay on the Talon, a few navy lackeys taking the winch ropes to fasten her down.
A small cohort of soldiers and officers were on deck, led to wait at a respectable distance from the craft, waiting for the passenger and crew to disembark, by none other than the station's new commander, James Darcy. He shaded his eyes with one hand, smiling when he finally spotted Bren.
((OOC: you guys are allowed to take a few liberties with who you might know aboard the Talon, feel free to bring a couple of NPCs to life.))

As the Airship moved into the docking platform Bren collected his things quickly fasten on his belt from which hung a holstered pistol which as a Captain he had a right to wear.
Then promptly leapt over the railing of the airship grabbing the mooring rope and using it to swing onto the landing plat form where he landed at a run then stopped passed the mooring rope to a startled dock worker. and hailed Darcy:
"Oi Dary you stiff collared prat where's my whiskey!!" shouted Bren while smiling and offering a hand to Darcy to shake. Many people has heard this conversation between Darcy and the Captain but no one quite knew why Darcy owed Bren Whiskey and why or even how much.

Darcy firmly returned the shake, his grin opening up further at his friend's request. "Drinking on the clock, Slade? You're just lucky the Captain didn't come down to meet you. I think he's retired with a headache since he heard your lot would be coming aboard."
The Professor descended down the plank cautiously, apparently afraid of wobbling off the sides. A couple of the soldiers broke away from the group, stepping up to take his luggage off the rest of the crew.
Darcy straightened up a little, remembering himself and his real duty here. "So, Professor, I'm Commander Darcy, welcome on board the Talon." He looked over his shoulder. "Corporal, please take the Professor to his quarters and then introduce him to the technical staff."
He turned back to Bren as the Professor waved a good-bye to the crew and smiled his thanks, before retreating away with the Corporal.
"Kalyan!" He called up to the hybrid. "I don't suppose you'd like to join us, I have to pay this man and give him a drink."
He gave Bren a genuinely pained look as they began to walk across the Talon's vast deck to one of the descending entrances into the bowels of the platform. "Please tell me you won't cause any trouble while you're here, Bren, Captain 'Stick-up-his-arse' has already twisted his lacy underwear enough about your crew and yourself coming on board his shiny air station. "

"Oh, I wouldn't be sure of that." A high pitched voice said. Fox was slinking up to them on all fours, snow white tail flicking behind her. She pushed herself upright and, without warning... slunk over to Darcy, lightly licked him on the cheek, while muttering into his ear. "I'm Jasmine. Pleased to meetcha." And she promptly walked away, a smirk alighting her chops. So he looked the tough, stern military type. So what? Licking people was her trademark greeting, and she was gonna stick to it. No matter if he was disgusted or unnerved by it. "De!" She called over her shoulder. "Hurry that lil' furry butt up!"

Any Questions that still resided in Bren's mind about whether he should have hired Jasmine dissipated as a night fog before the mornings sun . Bren beamed at both Jasmine and Darcy's particular mix of confusion, embarrassment, disgust and just the slightest hint of arousal.
'What us cause trouble? Never!" Bren laughed as he started to steer Darcy away' now how's about that drink? Say was that the Aurelia i saw hangin' of your bow?"

De's eyes wrenched away from the pipe he had been examining and saluted Jasmine promptly, then ran after her. He had no idea what was happening, as he hadn't been paying attention for the entire time since the pipe had caught his attention.
